Cajon Pass, CA. Mile 342

My first day and night without Ragnar. I'll admit that I'm emotional and very much feel the lack of his presence.
The PCT is a wonderful experience,  but it runs the gamete of emotions.  Days that I wonder what I'm doing.  Moments of intense loneliness.  Knowing that at times your only option is to keep walking.  These feelings vacilate with gratefulness for not having to work,  teary eyed at the unspeakable beauty of an expansive vista, and simple awe at what my body can do.

I guess I'm trying to say that perseverance is the back bone of this hike.
I managed to hike with a group today.  It was nice,  but also made me hike faster.  Accomplished 24 miles the first day and 25 the second day.
We are all eager to arrive at the McDonald's in Cajon Pass. We will pontificate on what we'll be ordering.

It has been a hot stretch to Cajon. We were lucky enough to take a swim in Silverwood Lake and recharg for our last push into the nights camp ground.

A bright and early rise brings us into El Cajon and...... McDonald's. Yes,  you can belive all PCT hikers are ecstatic for this stop.
