Green Valley, CA. Mile 478

I think the unofficial title of this section should be: Wildflower Overload. I saw so many beautiful flowers it was impossible not to take a bunch of pictures.
In true PCT format we hiked at least 10 miles looking at Bouquet Reservoir and not once did we come close too it.  Temptress!
It was a hot day, but I seemed to be flying.
This is a California Poppy. It comes in many colors and varieties. I was taken aback by it's  magnificence . In an earlier post you can find the picture of an orange California Poppy.
This may be hortitorture, but I cannot help it. Little gnats also loved the flowers. First time on the trail that I contemplated getting out my bug face net.
If you look closely at this picture,  you can see that the grass has a purple hue to it. Those are flowers!  The California desert is in a Super Bloom and I have had the privileged to witness it's magnificence.
I walked 24 miles between Agua Dulce, CA and Green Valley, CA. Starting at 0600 and finishing at 1630. This is the fastest 24 miles I have ever done in my life. I just might be getting my hiking legs.
Flowers always make people better, happier, and more helpful; they are sunshine, food and medicine for the soul. -Luther Burbank
GAhhh. I love all the colors and differences in the plants.
This shovel is the best trail sign I've seen yet. I appreciate the about out to trail maintenance crews.
