South Lake Tahoe, CA. Mile 1092

The changes in landscape become more apparent all the time.

I'm going North.

We go from volcanic in origin to round smooth hills and a dispersment of granite boulders.

Lichens on rock create such a dancing of colors.

Best of all has been the meadows of flowers.

Copious amounts of gorgeous flowers.

Oh the hortatorture I'm about to expose you too.

A white thistle. Oh the diversity of life!

Yes, more flowers.

This particular flower comes in three color varieties. I could not help but show you every one of them.

This is the last one, promise. This little beauty stuns with design and texture vs color.

Seeing Lake Tahoe in the distance was humbling.  To think that I've really walked from the border of Mexico to here.

I arrive into South Tahoe a day earlier than scheduled.  Managed to complete two 26 mile days and some 22 mile days.  Planing on resting up a day in South Tahoe and getting back on trail. Only 200 miles or so til half way done!
