Belden, CA. Mile 1284

Was able to pick up my package sent to Red Moose Cafe and Inn. I was nervous that I could not pick up my package due to the place only being open Thursday through Sunday. Luckily,  they were open on Wednesday at 8am. I picked up my package and ate a delicious breakfast feeling relaxed after things worked out so well.

In my food box I found some love sent from Alaska! Liese and Jim (Scott's Parents) sent me a lovely card.  Possibly also a fun yellow hand doing the peace sign. I was very touched. Thank you.
Typically on days where I'm leaving town I only manage 10-15 miles,  but I'm pushing more miles in August. So...... I did 20 miles coming out of town.

With the exception of leaving our coming into town,  26 miles is the minimum on a full hiking day.  Marathon August. Oregon,  here I come!

Got a little pep in my step from runner Don gifting me a Gatorade. Wonderful people!

Had a perfect sunset as I hiked into camp. So wonderous.

It has been getting hotter with a high humidity.  At least in the desert it was a dry heat that chilled in the night. Making desert friends again.

This change in temperature has increased the difficulty of the mileage.  Still crushing 26 miles,  but making it into camp beat.

Occasionally we will do 29 miles. On these days camp is a vision of heaven. I made it.

The scenery has  been somewhat drab lately.  Rounded mountains that are completely forested. Makes for less pictures, but I did see some plants ;)

Did get to see the fire that is raging near Quincy, CA. The smoke is crazy. At night you can see the fire glow.

Silver Lake, what a little beauty.

Did a 12 mile down hill into Belden Town, CA. A little rest and then back at it.
